Details for Cerro Añón Reserva 2014
Bottle size and vintage
The Reserva of the Cerro Añón range is an elegant wine at a very reasonable price and a most approachable wine from the moment the bottle is uncorked – one of those wines that can be enjoyed straightaway and right up to the very last drop.
Cerro Añón Reserva is a dark Picota cherry colour, of medium density and bright, with a rim showing the first signs of evolution; on the nose it exhibits some primary leather aromas, woodland and mushroom notes, which start opening up, gradually but obviously, until its fruit intensity is totally revealed, particularly the red fruit aromas, accompanied by very fresh and elegant balsamic notes. It has an interesting aromatic personality, no doubt resulting from the traditional coupage: Tempranillo (80%), Mazuelo (15%) and Garnacha (5%).
It continues most appealing on the palate, as this is a wine designed to give real pleasure, with a lot of volume, ripe fruit, peppery hints, just the right acidity and smooth, well-integrated tannins, wholly balanced and persisting right to the finish. A good wine at a good price.

Solid stalwart riserva
Solid reserva wine. A stalwart option. Great value for money. Could do with aging some more. A little young but still good nowby: Gerd Albrecht (04/03/2019) - Vintage 2014
First time with this wine
I like to try different Rioja under ten pounds. This was full flavour smooth most enjoyable. Drank outdoors on one rare sunny August day. Well worth a tryby: Christine (10/04/2017) - Vintage 2011
Consistently good full tasting rioja. We have tasted against several wines costing at least twice the price and always choose this one.by: Paul Edwards (30/12/2016) - Vintage 2010
A great Rioja
Whilst not the best I have tasted, it has charcter and fills the mouth with fruit. Acidity is good, it has a good finish and I will certainly buy it again.
