Marchesi Antinori
The Antinori family has been dedicated to the production of wine for more than six hundred years: ever since, in 1385, Giovanni di Piero Antinori became a member of the winemakers guild - Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri. Throughout its long history, spanning 26 generations, the family has always managed this activity directly, making innovative and sometimes courageous choices, but always maintaining unaltered respect for tradition and for the territory. Today the company is directed by Marquis Piero Antinori, with the support of his three daughters Albiera, Allegra and Alessia, who are personally involved in the company's activities. Tradition, passion and intuition have been the driving qualities which have led Marchesi Antinori to shine as one of the leading Italian wine producers.
Every vintage, every terrain, every idea that is put into action is a new beginning, a new search for ever higher quality margins. As Marquis Piero likes to say: "ancient roots play an important role in our philosophy, but they have never inhibited our innovative spirit". In addition to the estates in Tuscany and Umbria, the family's historic patrimony, investments have been made over time in other areas suitable for the production of quality wines, both in Italy and abroad, where it is possible to undertake a new path of valorization of new terroirs with a high viticultural potential.
Marchesi Antinori expresses its passion for viticulture by seeking ever finer margins for improvement. For this reason, continuous experiments are carried out in the vineyards and cellars with selections of native and international grape clones, types of cultivation, vineyard altitudes, fermentation methods and temperatures, traditional and modern vinification techniques, different types of wood, size and age of the barrels, and varying the length of bottle ageing.
