This is a mature and elegant 100% Tempranillo, sourced primarily from their own Rioja Alta vineyards located at Cenicero. It appears a bright ruby-red colour with brick-red hues and displays considerable aromatic richness on the nose, whilst the palate is complemented by nicely rounded tannins and a complex and persistent aftertaste.

Aged in American and French oak barrels for a minimum of 24 months, followed by at least 36 months of refinement and rounding off in bottle.

Love it. One of my favourites

The grand reserva is a step up and noticeably more mature vs the reserva. It’s a fully rounded berry taste with an even better lingering effect on the pallet.

Brilliant value traditional gran reserve

It probably 10 years since I've had this gran reserva.....but this 2012 is exceptional value for money, beautiful fruit, well integrated tannins, lovely vanilla, mushroom and well integrate oak. I would recommend all Rioja lovers to buy this wine

Enjoyable mature Rioja

Not up there with the very best Gran Reservas but good value for drinking now. Worth decanting before drinking to get some more development.

Punto fermo di Rioja

Quando ho voglia di immergermi negli odori e nei sapori della rioja, il coto de imaz Gran riserva è uno dei miei punti di riferimento di questa terra. Lo ho conosciuto più di vent'anni fa e sono fedele.
