Ossian Capitel 2018
Founded in 2005, Ossian joined the Alma Carraovejas group in 2013. They own 40 hectares of exceptional vineyards in Nieva, the highest point in the Rueda DO appellation at altitudes between 840 and 930 metres. Old pre-phylloxera ungrafted vines between 100 and 200 years old, which survived the phylloxera plague thanks to the sandy soils, produce small bunches of extremely high quality tiny grapes. The winery also has a few slate vineyards and old riverside terraces.
The firm's organic agriculture methods have been officially certified since 2001 and the excellent quality of their fruit ensures that they produce excellent white wines ideal for laying down. Wines that respect the terroirs their grapes have grown in, where the soil and characteristics of the vineyards create complex, concentrated and deep results. Wines that express like no others the unique essence of Verdejo.
