Primitivo

Primitivo is certainly one of the greatest landmarks of Italian wine. Produced mainly in Puglia, in the heel of the "Italian boot", this red wine is currently in great demand not only in the country, but also in the rest of Europe and the whole world.

The reasons of this success are due to the characteristics of both the variety and the wine:

  • its pleasant and enveloping roundness on the palate, always full-bodied and velvety.
  • its great versatility, which makes this grape suitable for making red wines, but also sweet or rosé wines.
  • its value for money, which makes it one of the most competitive product in Italy.

In addition to these qualities, the primitivo grape is used in several denominations of origin and it gives wines of different styles. Among the noblest versions we find the Primitivo di Manduria and the primitivo from Gioia del Colle, two renowned appellations whose wines deserve to be in any cellar and always ready for the best occasions.

But the regional appellations, Primitivo Puglia and Primitivo Salento, offer great surprises and an unbeatable price.

Don't know which one to choose? Take your time to discover them. Vinissimus’ catalogue will give you the chance to try them all.
