Wine El Coto Crianza 2017
This is a Rioja Crianza with plenty of fine attributes that offers excellent value for money - a 100% Tempranillo with grapes emanating from all three sub-zones: Rioja Alta, Baja and Alavesa. Fermentation takes place in the Oyón bodega, equipped with the latest advances in technology for keeping the temperature controlled during production processes. This enables just the right colour extraction to be obtained and helps to achieve a balanced wine with good structure.
A ruby-red colour and of medium density in appearance, the pleasantly fragrant nose exhibits fresh fruit aromas (strawberries) with touches of vanilla and oaky liquorice hints. Showing great balance on the palate, the wine is silky-smooth on entry and continues velvety, with an agreeable finish.
Aged for 12 months in 225-litre American oak barrels, and afterwards allowed to rest in bottle for a minimum of 6 months before release.

light, drinkable, but not my style
Drnkable summer red, without the depth of a more mature Rioja. I am biased towrads big flavours and heavy reds. This wine says Crianza and that's what it is. Nice wine, decent flavours and tannins, enough to keep me driniking for sure. Inoffensive but I long for the smoke and density of a more mature wine. I enjoyed it but wont buy it again.by: Matt - Bristol, UK (26/07/2017) - Vintage 2013
If you like Rioja crianza you'll love this.
Definitely suits my tastes. If you like the rawness of a good crianza this is for you. First tried in Spain, then finding Vinissimus can deliver to the UK at not too much of a cost. Perfect with red meat or strong tomato pasta dishes.by: Dawn Smit (27/07/2020) - Vintage 2016
What a wonderful surprise to find such a reasonably priced with that tastes like an incredibly expensive one! It smells fresh and floral, but it tastes full bodied and deep. It’s delicious and definitely one of my favouritesby: John UK (03/03/2017) - Vintage 2013
Found this excellent wine whilst on holiday in Spain, I searched all over the web for a quality wine merchant then I found Vinissimus, prices excellent , delivery spot on. Try a bottle or two, you won't be disappointedby: Vinissimus Customer (08/05/2018) - Vintage 2014
Extremely drinkable light Rioja, and great value.
I enjoyed this on a warm summers evening, perfect when you want something lighter. Is has a lovely balance of flavour and acidity that a young wine can sometimes miss. An excellent wine for the price.
