Kosher Wine Online

Kosher wine is made to the same strict production standards required for any kosher food or drink — but it tastes exactly like any other wine of its style and region. We keep a small, carefully chosen selection of certified kosher wines from Spain, rather than a large generic range, since genuinely well-made kosher wine is harder to find than most people expect. We're a Robert Parker Wine Advocate Trusted Retailer, so the wines on this list have been vetted by independent experts — not just by us.

Want to understand what makes a wine kosher? Read our guide on what kosher wine is.

What makes a wine kosher?

Kosher wine follows the same dietary laws (kashrut) that apply to kosher food. The grapes, yeast and any other ingredients used must all be kosher-certified, and at certain stages of production, only Sabbath-observant Jews are permitted to handle the wine. The equipment used must also be kosher, meaning it can't be shared with non-kosher wine production without proper cleaning between uses.

None of this changes how the wine tastes — a kosher Tempranillo from Penedès is made from the same grape, in the same region, using the same winemaking techniques as any other Tempranillo. The difference is entirely in who handles it and how, not in the finished wine itself.

What does "mevushal" mean?

Some kosher wines are labelled mevushal, meaning they've been flash-heated briefly during production. This step means the wine can be handled and served by anyone — not just Sabbath-observant Jews — which makes mevushal wine the standard choice for catered events, restaurants, and synagogues where staff may not be Jewish.

Non-mevushal kosher wine is just as kosher, but has stricter rules about who can open, pour or serve it after the bottle is opened. If you're buying for an event with outside catering, it's worth checking whether mevushal matters for your situation.
