Bottle size and vintage
Masciarelli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a powerful and intense wine, with a deep ruby red color. The nose reveals a complex and refined bouquet with notes of red fruit, cherry, black currant, violet and hints of tobacco. The taste is warm and enveloping with velvety tannins. On the table it goes well with appetizers such as terrine of wild game, meat pies, rustic pâtés and savory first courses, such as timbale with beef patties, meat ravioli, risotto with sausage, tagliolini with duck ragout and main courses such as: lamb with oven, roast feathered game, grilled meats and mature hard cheeses.
- Optimum serving temperature:Between 16ºC and 18ºC

Nicely balanced wine, no vices, excellent value.
A good, non-Riserva Montepulciano, berry flavours, medium weight. Highly adaptable - it complemented both my personal chicken/anchovy/red pepper recipe, and cheeses - so it can be recommended as food-friendly. I shall certainly be trying further Masciarelli wines.by: Alain (17/05/2017) - Vintage 2014
Vin très agréable
Il a du corps sans être tanique, un vin facile qui s'accommode avec bon nombre de plats dont les pâtes :-)
Gianni Masciarelli inherited a passion for vine-growing and wines from his grandfather Giovanni, and started his wine production in the very same old cellar where Giovanni used to create wines. The winery is now run by his wife Marina Cvetic following Gianni’s sudden passing away in 2008. Marina is a great professional who, far from resting on her laurels, has continued to revolutionize the world of wine with her desire to evolve and experiment. Starting off with just 2...
