In the opinion of North American guru Robert Parker, Pruno is an astonishing wine, one that delivers more and more and we're convinced that many of our clients will support this assertion; not without good reason Pruno always figures amongst our best-selling wines, vintage after vintage. It's a fresh, accessible wine, always reasonably priced, and in a style which usually suits most palates: aromatic, fruit-forward, elegant, juicy...

Pruno is made from Tempranillo (90%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) grapes, using the first clusters that are harvested on the estate from the younger vineyards, planted out in parcels with soils of differing composition; that diversity is reflected in the wine's complex and rich character.

Pruno is the type of wine that fills the mouth with lots of fruit, blueberries and blackcurrants, hints of liquorice and graphite, and reveals a lovely texture. It's persistent on the palate, and rounding off the ensemble are some subtle ageing notes which are very well-integrated.

In short, it's a wine always to have at home, one which can be enjoyed when recently released or at any time during the ensuing 4-5 years.

Wow

A friend invited me over and served this from a decanter along with some wood grilled pork. So I had no idea what we were drinking other than a Spanish red. Whilst it looked a little dark and moody in the glass, it was as soft as ermine and got better with the food. My friend asked me what I thought. I said 'Wow.' He said, 'Not only 'Wow', but just over ten euros a bottle.' Win win.

Sad

Maybe it's just this bottle. Hope so as I have a couple more. Very disappointed and having worked in the region I know what to expect from this wine and it just wasn't there. Not rounded, not full bodied, not a pleasant drink. Will leave the other two bottles for a few months and hope they are better.

One of my favourite reds

This blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon from the Ribera del Duero is one of my favourites Spanish red wines. It is rich in the mouth with a delicious berry character and good length. It is an excellent companion to rich meat dishes and stews. Always a pleasure.

Nice Ribera del Duero, good value for money

Am drinking this wine for many years now, was tipped by some Spanish friends. Nice with meat or just to drink in the evening. For a Ribera del Duero, certainly good value for money.

Nice easy wine

Nice easy wine. Full-bodied, oaky, blackberry, black fruit, leather, tobacco, vanilla The taste is deep and intense - with a fine and delicate structure. Very long finish.
