Details for Viña Real Reserva 2015
Bottle size and vintage
The first bottles of Viña Real emerged in 1920; today, nearly a century later, Viña Real wines continue to be synonymous with elegance and a respect for tradition. Their Reserva, in particular, is made from premium quality grapes, harvested by hand and undergoing cold maceration before fermentation, which takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. Ageing, that endows it with roundness and its emblematic balance, occurs for 22 months in new barrels and for a further two years in bottle.
The Viña Real Reserva's style, steered by the Tempranillo and supported by the other two traditional varieties, takes the form of a mature, elegant and floral wine which appears a bright cherry colour. On the nose, wild berry fruits mingle with the tertiary notes attained during ageing, displaying an aromatic panoply of vanilla, cedar and blackberries. It offers a delicate first contact with the lips and progresses comfortingly; warmth and fine tannins fill the palate in good measure. Roasted and smoky notes make an appearance, as well as leather and incense, taking us through to a complex and spicy finish. A hallmark of distinction that would embellish any special occasion.

Me gusta su color granate fuerte con brillos vivaces. Conserva algunos aromas frutales, el uso de la madera es equilibrado y el resultado final es convincente.by: juanpa (01/11/2019) - Vintage 2015

The Viña Real brand was created in 1960 by Cvne, the founding winery of the group which also includes Viñedos del Contino. Although the first wines to be released onto the market and made with Viña Real grapes (in the Elciego area and close to the old royal road, the Camino Real, hence the name) date back to 1920.
