The wine

This is one of the country's best Manzanillas, made according to traditional methods. Aged under a veil of flor or film of yeast, the solera system is used, whereby tiers of casks (criaderas) are arranged so that the upper rows feed their younger wines to the older wines below.

The damp micro-climate and the maritime breezes around the mouth of the River Guadalquivir make Sanlúcar de Barrameda the land of Manzanilla, and give a distinctive character to this particular wine.

A pale straw colour, the nose carries aromas reminiscent of the sea breeze. Dry, light and fresh, with pungency and a clean palate, it shows great delcacy.

The NV Manzanilla Papirusa from Sanlucar de Barrameda has an intense straw color with a smoky nose of roasted nuts. The palate is dry and light, with clean, pungent flavors, showing finesse and good length. Lustau is doing a good job to improve their Manzanillas, working with a good almacenista in Sanlucar.
