Details for Manzanilla La Gitana
Located in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, where it is considered quite an institution, Bodegas Hidalgo La Gitana is currently run by the fifth generation of the Hidalgo family and possesses more than 200 hectares of vineyards on the Balbaina and Miraflores estates, the best in the Jerez District. The winery, barely 300 metres from the mouth of the River Guadalquivir, benefits from a maritime influence for maturing the wines, which leaves its mark upon the ageing and special characteristics of their range of Manzanillas, Amontillados and Olorosos.
Manzanilla La Gitana is undoubtedly the winery's star, a Manzanilla made from the must of Palomino Fino grapes, revealing delicate, pungent, complex aromas, typical of its production method and ageing. On the palate, it appears fresh, dry, light, and with just a touch of bitterness.

Perfect go-to manzanilla
Ideal balance of classic manzanilla style and price - it is easily better than many that are more expensive. Purchase experience from Vinissimus very positive.by: Ralph Martin (26/09/2019)
One of favourites
Have tried others, but keep coming back to this one. Perfect choice for good fish dishes, or simply to enjoy on a hot day.by: JW (28/05/2019)
Solid and dependable
What can you say about this particular manzanilla? It's pretty much an institution and to me represents a baseline in quality of this particular type of wine. Perfect served chilled with food, particularly anything salty; olives, cheese, cured meats, salted almonds.by: John Cumby (20/03/2019)
Do not drink it all
This elegant Fino has one problem. It is too easy to drink more than your fair share. Very dry and light gold in colour and bright gold in quality
