Details for Albariño Mar de Frades 2019
Bottle size and vintage
El Mar de Frades is a great white wine capable of showing all the expressiveness of the Albariño grape, a unique wine with marine memories that seduces with its elegant freshness, its special character and its unmistakable blue bottle.
In the vineyard, on the side of a hill in the heart of the Salnés Valley, in front of the Ría de Arousa, only perfectly ripe and healthy clusters are collected and taken in small boxes to the winery. There a strict selection table eliminates about 13% of the grapes so that only the best participates in the vinification of the Sea of Frades. The fruit then passes to the macerators, where it remains with its skins for 40 hours in an environment perfectly saturated with carbon dioxide and, therefore, protected against the risks of oxidation and bacterial proliferation. From this process, clean and strongly floral musts are obtained, which will ferment with their own yeasts to reveal the Atlantic and varietal aromas. After this fermentation process, the wine will remain for 5 months on its lees to round off and gain breadth.
Behind each of the thermochromic labels (they show a small boat when the wine is at the ideal service temperature) of Mar de Frades we find a wine with a crystalline profile, a lemony color and reflections of green apple peel. The radiant appearance invites you to appreciate the floral notes on the nose, jasmine and violets that intermingle with fennel, mango and apricot, and accompany the intensity of the salt notes. On the palate, he is bold and forceful, with a good load of ripe fruit and enough freshness to reach a sophisticated finish and of a strong Atlantic character that demonstrates the reason for his popularity and his deserved place among the great white wines of Spain.

2018 era mejor
Quizá porque es muy reciente, pero 2019 tiene un punto de acidez mayor, aunque sigue siendo buenísimo: te lo tomas como si fuera un zumo, y 0 resaca.by: JB (16 Sep) - Vintage 2019
Hard to find a better complement for seafood, salad or tomato dishes. Quite dry but gentle tasting, and refreshing on a hot summer day!by: Jose A. Carrillo (21 Jul) - Vintage 2019
