Raíces Juan García

One of the great hidden gems of Spanish viticulture. Fresh, expressive and surprisingly elegant, this red wine champions the immense potential of a variety that remains almost unknown beyond its native land.

The Raíces collection was created with the purpose of recovering native varieties that form part of Spain’s winegrowing heritage. On this occasion, the protagonist is Juan García, a historic variety linked to the D.O. Arribes, the spectacular territory where the River Duero carves deep canyons between Salamanca and Portugal. Also known as Negra in some Portuguese areas or Mouratón in Galicia, it is one of the most distinctive and surprising varieties of the Iberian Peninsula.

Made by winemaker Rubén Magallanes, this wine seeks to reveal the variety’s most authentic profile: fresh, aromatic and full of personality, moving away from excessive power to focus on elegance and the expression of the territory.
