Review

Catena Zapata wines have, to put it frankly, revolutionised the American wine scene since the company began to produce wines from parcels or very specific vineyards. Among the whites are its extraordinary White Bones, White Stones and River Stones. They are still not widely known, with very limited production, yet really spectacular.

These three wines originate from the Adrianna vineyard, in Gualtallary, and each one has its own personality. White Stones arises from a soil that's naturally calcareous with stones on the surface, hence its name, and it's characterised by a more citrus, very mineral profile and has a smoky undertone, with flinty notes. Magnificent and persistent like its siblings.

Stunning chardonnay from extreme elevation vineyard. Showing class '14 vintage!

Opened up after 1 hour, touch of deliberate oxidation, fresh, loads of stone & tropical fruits. Long finish. Mineral, saline, sensational!

The wine-making philosophy of Nicolás Catena lies in the art of blending fruit from different vineyards. Despite the ...
