The wine

Salinete is a small Andalusian rarity. A wine that brings together ten vintages, varieties rescued from oblivion and patient ageing to offer an experience reminiscent of the great historic wines of the south, yet with a freshness and accessibility that feel entirely contemporary.

Some wines reflect a single harvest, while others condense years of history. Salinete Saca de Primavera 2024 belongs to the second category. Made by La Melonera, it is born from a selection of the finest sacas made between 2014 and 2024, brought together in a unique, unrepeatable blend that combines time, patience and tradition.

The wine is made from native varieties recovered from Málaga’s winegrowing heritage: Moscatel Morisco (50%), Pedro Ximénez (30%) and Doradilla (20%), the leading figures in a project that seeks to preserve the region’s historic identity. Its name pays tribute to the salinete, a small native fish from Andalusian rivers that is currently threatened, reflecting the winery’s commitment to recovering what is its own.

La Melonera is an estate nestled in the Serranía de Ronda, a sub-zone of the Sierras de Málaga D.O., and a top-quality wine-growing project, involved in the restoration of varieties on the verge of distinction and in harmony with the countryside, under the leadership of four shareholders, one of which is the Perelada Group (owners of Castillo de Perelada), that is responsible for vineyard management. The estate comprises 196 hectares, of which 9.5 are vineyards,...
