The wine

Whispering Angel is stunning and delicious, a best-seller in the USA and on the world stage!

Following his purchase of Château d'Esclans in 2006, oenologist and wine merchant Sacha Lichine decided to work towards a renewal of rosé wines, the so-called Rosé Renaissance, updating long-standing traditions of rosé wine production in the Provence with new winemaking techniques while seeking out the most suitable vineyards he and other local vine-growers possess. The result is Whispering Angel, a delicious premium Provence rosé which has gained well-deserved international recognition.

Made with Grenache, Cinsaut and Vermentino grapes, Esclans Whispering Angel is a delicious Côtes-de-Provence wine, accessible and pleasant, exuberant and wonderfully gastronomic. A sublime pale colour blending delicate aromas with an enviable freshness and rich fruitiness. Subtle notes of red fruits mix with white flowers and spicy hints in the mouth, backed up by a delightful minerality, enchanting texture, and smooth finish. A complete and always appealing rosé, understandably worthy of its international fame and success. As its creator Sacha Lichine says, "Angels whisper in the Esclans valley, and you might just hear them when you drink this wine."

Château d'Esclans

Château d'Esclans

Château D'Esclans is located in the heart of the Var, where most of the AOC Rosés de Provence are produced. The lands were occupied 2,500 years ago and constituted a point of surveillance for possible intruders who could disembark in the Gulf of Fréjus. The original castle - of which only the cellars remain today - was built before the 12th century. In 1201, Gérard de Villeneuve, heir to a wealthy Marseille family, became the owner of the castle and...
