Review

The Baigorri Blanco Fermentado en Barrica is a majestic, characterful white well worth discovering. It's made from grapes of the Viura and Malvasía varieties, allowed to ferment and then matured for 8 months in new French oak barrels. On the nose it exhibits expressive aromas of ripe white fruit, enhanced with balsamic and slightly spicy notes resulting from its oak ageing. On the palate, work with the lees confers creaminess and complexity. Elegant and balanced right from first contact to its long, lasting finish.

Pálido y glicérico

Blanco crianza color pálido con ligeros reflejos dorados. Tiene cuerpo, es glicérico, pero algo falto de matices, sin ser plano. Evoluciona un par de días después a cierta sequedad mineral propia de la uva macabeo o viura, que es la misma.

Ha bajado en calidad

Estuve en las bodegas Baigorri hace ocho años y allí descubrí este vino. El vino blanco de Rioja no me gusta, prefiero mil veces el Verdejo. Pero este, al estar fermentado en barrica me resulto mucho mejor. Tomándolo a una temperatura entre 10 y 15 grados. Sin embargo, esta añada no me ha resultado tan buena como las de hace 6 ó 7 años

Gustoso e succoso, di facile accostamento sia a piatti semplici che più strutturati

Avevo già bevuto questo vino in Spagna e mi piacque veramente tanto. Non banale ,con complessità di profumi interessante e rispondenti anche al palato Gustoso e succoso, di facile accostamento sia a piatti semplici che a quelli un po' più strutturati.Sicuramente potrà migliorare ulteriormente con qualche anno in più di cantina (se riusciamo a resistere)
