Review
In 1988, a local producer in Murillo de Río Leza discovered that one of his Tempranillo red vines produced red and white grapes at the same time. This spontaneous genetic mutation, very similar to what would be a case of albinism, gave birth to a new grape, the White Tempranillo.
Harvested by hand in the Finca del Yergo vineyard on clay soils, at an altitude of 550 meters above sea level. Subsequently, the wine is kept on its lees for six months, half in stainless steel tanks and the other half in 225-liter French oak barrels. This ensures that the wine is rich, soft and creamy, but that it shows the citrus fruit and floral character typical of the Tempranillo Blanco variety. This wine shows a unique bouquet of citrus notes (lemon and orange blossom) and fruits (pineapple and banana) with hints of mint, honey and cedarwood, which show a subtle minerality. And the sensation in the mouth benefits from the volume, structure and length of the original Tempranillo.
