Bottle size and vintage
The Massolino Barolo is a great classic made, in the time-honoured traditional way, using grapes from different vineyards (all located in the municipality of Serralunga and originating from vines aged between 10 and 55 years old), with 30 months of ageing in French oak barrels. The result is an elegant, precise and thoroughly pleasant wine which sets itself apart due to its excellent quality/price ratio.
With a perfectly defined bouquet, the Massolino Barolo is notable for its floral aromas (roses and violets), red fruits (raspberries and strawberries), nutmeg, leather and liquorice, on a balsamic and mineral background. It's a real pleasure to swirl the glass gently and be captivated by its open and expressive nose. On the palate it exhibits plenty of body and comes over rounded, with fine and silky tannins.

A contemporary classic.
This is typical of Massolino's entry level Barolos. A combination of firmness, gentleness, and class. Very young now, it will begin to come on its own in 10+ years. Highly recommended.by: Gerhard Koch (09/01/2018) - Vintage 2013
It needs time
This wine is tasty & beautifully perfumed but it really is way too young. I regret opening it as it needs a few years to relax. Like all of us really.by: Wiemus (22/12/2017) - Vintage 2013
Ready to drink. It is a very good intense and complex barolo that you can drink now or leave in cellarby: Po (02/11/2018) - Vintage 2014
