Details for La Garnacha Salvaje del Moncayo 2017
Red Young Crianza
Ribera del Queiles (Spain)
Bottle size and vintage
A fruity and fresh wine that has sweet tannins. It originates from a vineyard of old Garnacha vines located in the foothills of Moncayo, which was planted over half a century ago and now is exactly the right time for these Garnachas to start delivering their best.
Aged for 5 months in new French oak barrels, a well-rounded wine which surprises us with its freshness and mature fruit. Its grapes come from plants grown in high-altitude vineyards with a large amount of slate and pebbles in the soil which enhance the minerality of the wine. It gives off aromas of red berries and scrub-bush, and is a pleasant yet wild wine.
- Optimum serving temperature:Between 16º C and 18º C
A summer bargain.
Super summer quaffer, lovely almost perfumed nose with violets, wild raspberries and herbs. Good acidity and a fair amount of complexiy at a very competitive price!by: JW (28/05/2019) - Vintage 2016
Good depth of flavour
Excellent to drink with food or on its own, this wine has a variety of fruity complex flavours. Very good value for the price, will certainly buy again.by: Dominic (19/11/2018) - Vintage 2016
Complex but easy to drink. Has a few bottles with some cheese and pickle and it was just the job.by: endless (05/05/2017) - Vintage 2015
Raspberry, pure, but a bit hot
I didn't like this as much as the 2014, bit it is still a good wine for the price. It tastes a bit riper than the previous year, with a more pronounced raspberry character and a bit of heat from the alcohol. Clear and pure, but without the lightness of the 2014.
