Details for Cune Reserva 2015
Bottle size and vintage
Cune was the name given to the first wine bottled at the Haro bodega and its outstanding success led to the subsequent production of the Cune Reserva. Showing respect for tradition, both the Crianza and the Reserva reflect the innovative spirit of this emblematic Rioja Alta winery, always a trusted brand.
In the making of the Reserva, grapes are used from their own vineyards, located in the Rioja Alta; they are hand-picked and ferment in tanks. Afterwards the wine matures in American and French oak barrels for 18 months, acquiring its characteristic finesse. Following a natural clarification, the wine rests for about a year in bottle until the right time arrives for its release onto the market.
Concealed behind the cork of every bottle of Cune Reserva is a red wine that's midway between cherry and garnet in colour, with fine tears. Its interesting aromatic display is dominated by hints of red fruits and liquorice, and supported by a background of toasty notes and sweet spices (cinnamon and vanilla) derived from its oak ageing. On the palate, it's delicate and elegant from start to finish; its rounded tannins provide pleasure in abundance and, in combination with the fruit's character, deliver superb balance. With a lovely fresh finish, swathed in appealing hints of thyme.
Mushrooms / Grilled meats / Riojan style potatoes

An excellent value Rioja to drink now or keep.
Ruby red colour. Deep, rich, red fruit nose nose. More in the modern style without the heavy oak and vanilla flavours. Still relatively young, a robust food wine which improves in the glass.by: Luz Ameli Butcher (30/12/2019) - Vintage 2015

Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España - CVNE
The Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España, CVNE —or 'Cune', as it's known locally in Haro— was founded in 1879 and was one of the first wineries in La Rioja to bottle wine.
