Details for Altos de Luzón 2018
Bottle size and vintage
Classed as one of their 'autor' or signature wines, this is fresh and fruity in the modern style, offering a top quality 'crianza' at a good price. Great care is taken over hand-picking the choicest grapes at harvest and then selecting further on the sorting table, with each variety undergoing fermentation separately.
Garnet-cherry red in colour, it reveals a complex range of aromas, notably ripe black fruit, spices, cocoa, vanilla and toasty notes. On the palate, this is a pleasantly rich wine, with ripe and rounded tannins, that shows good acidity with a silky texture and great balance.
Aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.

This mature, dry red from Jumilla is great value. It has the texture and flavour of a wine twice this price. This is the perfect accompaniment for tapas and more intricate saffron flavoured dishes such as goat or prawn.by: Peter Larner (19/02/2017) - Vintage 2011
The taste of Spain
First enjoyed this wine in Los Alcazares and was very pleased to find it was available from Vinissimus. Great with beef or tapas. A lovely wine. The real taste of Spain.by: Vera Melcher (18/01/2017) - Vintage 2011
Wir trinken diesen Wein schon lange, es stimmt eigentlich alles daran. Er ist füllig, hat eine gute Nase und der Abgang ist fulminant. Wir lieben ihn. Für uns der beste Spanier!
Although established as such in the year 2000, Bodegas Luzón's origins stem from the union of a succession of Jumilla vine growers since 1916. After the Grupo Fuertes became involved in 2005, they started making significant investments and installing the most advanced equipment in the winery, thereby showing a commitment for the future and for quality.
