Sindicat La Figuera is a wine produced in the traditional way, without using oak, truly authentic and very easy to drink. It's a pure Garnacha from one of Montsant's coolest areas, floral, juicy, with a rustic touch and mineral hint. An absolute delight!
This wine is part of a project aiming to restore the production of wines undertaken by the Cooperativa Agrícola Aubacs i Solans in the 1970s. It's receiving input and assistance from René Barbier Junior.
What does this wine taste like?
This red wine is a Picota cherry colour, fruity, juicy and fresh, with scents of ripe red fruit, Mediterranean herbs and spicy touches. On the palate it's supple and soft, with considerable aromatic intensity in the retro-nasal passage. It’s smooth, with a perfect balance between juiciness and acidity. Its tannins are extremely pleasant, a little rustic, but sweet, and it has a slightly liquorice finish. It conceals a mineral (chalk) hint which comes to the fore after a short while in the glass and takes on an omnipresent delicacy that only Garnacha from La Figuera can confer.

Drinking and storing
It doesn't need decanting. Let it aerate in the glass. Enjoy it as soon as released or for three years afterwards.
It works wonderfully well when partnered with rabbit stews and rice dishes, cooked meats, barbecues and pasta. A perfect every-day wine.

The wine-making process is carried out in the winery’s traditional concrete tanks located underground; it matures in them for 8 months.
The grapes come from one of Montsant’s coolest areas, from old vineyards of Garnacha vines aged between 30 and 80 years old.
