Review

Catena Zapata never ceases to surprise us with its new parcel wines, with their amazing personality, and they have made Argentine wine the new 'one to watch'.

Sourcing from the renowned Adrianna Vineyard it has produced some exceptional wines, both whites and reds. Among the reds we find three great names: Fortuna Terrae, Mundus Bacillus Terrae and River Stones. They are not yet widely known, very limited in production, but really outstanding and exciting.

Fortuna Terrae originates from parcels with rather deeper soils, having limestone rock in the subsoil, and they possess a profile which is more feminine, more fragrant and floral, of a less intense colour and with a much more pleasant palate than wines of a similar ilk; and it has delightful acidity.

Extraordinario

En Mendoza y concretamente esta bodega, está haciendo muy buen trabajo. El mejor Malbec que he probado hasta la fecha. Mineral, frutal, elegante. Muy equilibrado.

Worth every penny!

Is there a better Malbec on the market today? Probably not! This amazing wine is made from grapes grown on the 1450 meter high Adrianna vineyard. The result is a sexy, juicy and easy-flowing wine with earthy and mineral aromas and a fruity richness that is hard to describe. Just imagine how this one will taste in a decade…

Bodega Catena Zapata

In keeping with family tradition, Nicolás Catena Zapata is now the third generation to run the winery and can count on daughter Laura to follow in his footsteps. They have been able to make the most of terroir best described as poor, yet exceptional, holding to the firm belief that these particular lands possess hidden qualities, excellent for grape-growing. The wine-making philosophy of Nicolás Catena lies in the art of blending fruit from different vineyards. Despite the ...
