The wine

"There's purity and elegance, nuance and character. I love it!". Robert Parker's critic for Spanish wines, Luis Gutiérrez, was blown away by this splendid wine: 95 points for the 2020 vintage.

Casa Sosegada pays homage to the wines made in the past by families in farmhouses in the Valencian countryside and stored in concrete vats or half-buried clay jars. From the Fontanars dels Alforins area and with a very limited production, it is the wine to substitute Casa Bosca among the key reference wines by Rafael Cambra.

What does this wine taste like?

It has a tantalizing nose with notes of fresh berries, aromatic herbs, flowers, and a spicy touch. A delightfully expressive and showy wine. A medium-bodied mouthfeel with a pleasant texture, great freshness, acidity and balance thanks to fine and sophisticated tannins. Displaying an extremely noble character, it is a wine brimming with purity, elegance, and plentiful nuances.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker

The wine that blew me away, the spectacular 2020 Casa Sosegada is a blend of 50% Monastrell with the other 50% ancient varieties like Arco, Forcalla, Bonicaire and Rojal. It fermented in small vats with 30% full clusters and indigenous yeasts and matured in concrete egg for 14 months. It's 13.5% and has notes of fresh berries, aromatic herbs, flowers and a spicy touch. It's very perfumed, expressive and showy. The palate is medium-bodied and nicely textured, with very good freshness, acidity and balance and very fine and sophisticated tannins. There's purity and elegance, nuance and character. I love it! 4,000 bottles were filled in January 2022.
