Maccone Rosso 17º is the most opulent and harmonious Primitivo in the Donato Angiuli range, with this vine grower largely responsible for the excellent reputation enjoyed today by Apulian wines and their Primitivos in particular. It’s a truly seductive wine, concentrated and enveloping, warm and powerful, with a broad aromatic palette. A wine which oozes origin and tradition in every single drop: always remarkable, its character gives us a convincing and elegant account of how Salento’s wine-growing has evolved over the course of history.

Drinking and storing
You would think that a 17% wine would be too alcoholic- like drinking sherry or port - but not a bit of it, we found the Maccone Rosso 17° to be indeed strong, but also well balanced and very enjoyable. I thought that it was good value at 21€. It was noticeablely of a higher quality than the Maccone Primitivo 2013 at 12€ which I had tried previously. You would need to match up this wine with food that complements it: cheese, meat or pasta. Drinking this as an aperitif would probably not work very well.
Strong wine almost porto with a magnificent taste
THE wibe with high alcohol is vers intens with a Good equilibrium verwezen tannines , taste and palate . Worthwile bying
