In each bottle of Tinto Pesquera Crianza there lies a little bit of Ribera del Duero history.
An open wine, brimming with fruit, approachable right from the start but also capable of ageing most elegantly. Good fruit, delicate oak, elegant tannins and character throughout. An essential red for understanding the Ribera del Duero DO.

A superb wine at a great price
I've been drinking Pesquera from various vintages over the last decade and never has it disappointed. I use this wine to benchmark others and often refer to it when tasting not only Spanish wines but French wines also. Drinks well even if put away for 10 years and I've recently had 2001, 2003 and 2005 vintages. The case of 2014 just purchased has gone into the cellar and I'll be opening the first in about 5 years time..... if I can wait that long of course!
Reliable affordable quality
This has been my go-to Spanish wine for a decade. It's consistantly great and it's complex enough to challenge your tastebuds. Lovely full on dark berries, vanilla, oak and some peppery spices. Medium to full body with some tannins to balance the fruit. Relatively long finish. It really is a good wine!
I have purchased this wine on many occasions and originally tried this in San Sebastian many years ago. When I first tried this wine I thought it was the best wine ever, however the quality of some of the more recent years does not seem to match my memories of the the past.
Delicious, needs a few more years
It felt a bit early to drink this but I thought I would buy a few bottles and try one now. It lived up to my expectation, intense dark fruit flavours. Will let it lie now for a few years....
A nice Ribera Del Duero
It is a very nice Ribera Del Duero, which can be easily enjoyed any time. Great flavor full of berries and roses. It is a good wine to untroduce somebody to Ribera Del Dueros

Alejandro Fernández has been intrinsically linked to vine-growing in the Ribera del Duero region for nearly 40 years, following in his father's footsteps and the family tradition. When his first 'Tinto' was released in 1975, he had fulfilled his ambition, perhaps unwittingly then, to produce a great wine. This is the original, his flagship winery, which helped to secure the successful fortunes of a nascent wine-producing DO, where the Tempranillo grape variety has always reigned...
