Details for Malpuesto 2018
Bottle size and vintage
Malpuesto started life with the 2005 vintage and only goes into production when the quality of the fruit harvested can ensure that its high standard will be maintained. The grapes come from a vineyard bearing the same name, selected and hand-picked from very special bush vines, boasting an average age of 80 years old and planted on clay-chalk soil.
Malpuesto is an extremely powerful wine, fruit-driven and balanced, revealing hints of blueberries, thicket and liquorice and with perfectly integrated sweet tannins. With all due praise to the bodega’s second wine (Orben), Malpuesto clearly reigns supreme.
Malolactic fermentation in barrel, followed by ageing for 12 months in fine grain French oak barrels.

ein guter Tempranillo aus der Region Rioja, gut in der Nase und guter Geschmack. Vielleicht ein bisschen zu teuer, aber akzeptabel.by: Le Dame de Montrose 2012 (28/02/2018) - Vintage 2014
Great modern rioja
Dark berries, especially blueberries, plums, forest floor and floral elements on nose. Vivid acidity and balanced tannins with dark berries on palate.Fullbodied and complex fruity quite long finish.Structured and elegant layered wine. Doesnt need long aeration but benefits surely longer cellaring. Personal rioja. Paired well with blinis.
