Review
A small family business of La Morra, now managed by Marco, Marengo operates on the basis of simple but solid principles of style and sustainability. The work is centered on an integrated management of the vineyards and on the reduction of interventions in the cellar. The style, between strength and territorial expressiveness, is based on the realization of elegant and fruity wines, with short macerations and refinements in small wood.
It is always confirmed a sample of the municipality and of the whole denomination, for quality / price ratio, the Marengo vintage Barolo, knows how to perfectly express the character of the pure Nebbiolo. After vinification this wine matures for about 36-48 months of which at least 20 in Slavonian oak barrels; then rests in the bottle for about 6 months before being put on the market. At the sight it has a bright red color with shades that vary to garnet in youth, with the passage of time it becomes ruby red with orange reflections. Fruity notes of ripe fruit alternate with floral scents and spicy aromas deriving from aging; going to compose a rich and intense aromatic bouquet. The taste is dry in the mouth and particularly pleasant. Ideal with tasty meat dishes, such as roasts, braised meats and stewed game. Excellent with mature cheeses.Recommendations
