Lageder Chardonnay Lowengang is an intense and complex white, bright yellow with green reflections. The aromatic bouquet is rich, fresh, floral, expressing a delicate scent of butter, vanilla and mandarin. In the mouth it is full-bodied, full, elegant, characterized by a fresh and well balanced acidity. Delicate wood flavor that harmoniously joins the structure. Persistence is very good, with a slight note of bitter almond. Excellent in combination with fish, crustaceans, white meats and poultry.

Perfect Start of the Evening
Loewengang is one of my favorite long since. Refreshing taste, long finish, crispy yet refreshing fruity and mineral taste goes perfectly with fish and seafood, but I like it as well with Thai or Chinese food. The wine is initially delicate, but the main note and the aftertaste is much stronger , leaves you eager to have another sip. I suggest to serve it really cool, then the feeling of the main note is stronger. The wine remains long on the palate and rear of the tongue leaving refreshing feeling.
It is a very nice wine.
This bottle of Löwengang Chardonnay is of a light gold colour with green highlights. On the nose, aromas of Golden Delicious apples are supported by caramelized apples, vanilla and poached pears. On the palate one feels that this is a dry wine endowed with refreshing acidity, generous alcohol and a rather full body weight. This is still a youthful wine where oak flavours and influence stands in front of a good fruit concentration which will, in due time, rebalance everything and will come to the fore. The wine finishes with a signature telling us that quality french oak was used in the process. To compensate this, a pairing with a grilled salmon will help you find immediate pleasure and will persuade you in being patient while the rest of your case of wine will come to a mature fruition.
Cultivating fifty hectares of vines using biodynamic methods without having an impact on the environment is no easy task, but the Alois Lageder winery pulls it off, combining their apparently idealistic and extreme philosophy with a precise, direct and exquisite style to create wines whose quality is unquestionable. Founded in 1823, five generations later the winery is currently run by Alois Lageder. A family winery which stands out for its capacity to blend tradition and...
