The Chardonnay grape in this wine from the Jermann winery finds a worthy expression of its finest qualities. With intense aromas of banana, ripe apple, nutmeg and herbs, on the palate it appears creamy, flavoursome and has a persistent finish. Excellent for accompanying oily fish like salmon.

Always dependable and without oak
I discovered this wine on a recent visit to Florence for shopping and eating. This is a renowned winery that uses stainless steel vats rather than oak and the result is a complex, multi-layered wine but with a lighter feel than the normal oaky stuff from the USA or South Africa which is the white wine of choice here in England. It is hard to find qulaity Friuli whites here and when they do appear there tends to be quite a mark-up on the Italian price, even after shipping Costs. IT'a pity they use DHL though...the worst courier to use for my area of all of them!
