Tried this wine for the first time in Ibiza last year and have since made several purchases, a dozen at a time. Unfortunately I was unable to go via my usual route but found this supplier online and went ahead. This is one of the best wines I have tried, lovely full bodied, just what I like. The supplier was extremely efficient and my wine was here within a short time.by: Philip (11/03/2017) - Vintage 2012
A good reserva
This is a good example of a modern-style Rioja Reserva, although there are better wines at a similar price. At the moment (March 2017) it is still a little raw, with acid a bit dominant and no real development of secondary flavours. If kept for two or more years it will probably improve.by: Mike Smith (26/05/2020) - Vintage 2015
Bodegas Palacio's Glorioso was served to me last year in El Campello and was immediately impressed by both the Reserva and the Crianza. A hint of something different to a lot of Riojas. Full of flavour, smooth and a lasting finish Now a regular on my wine rackby: wade gustafson (26 May) - Vintage 2016
Perhaps I opened it too soon or didn't give it enough time to breathe properly, but this was surprisingly light for a Reserva. I'll review again another time and see if it will change my mind. Hopefully it will come good and earn an extra star.by: Iain (26/07/2018) - Vintage 2013
Very enjoyable wine.
This wine offers excellent value for a good quality Rioja Reserva. If you are looking for a full bodied wine at a reasonable price you do not need to look further.
Bodegas Palacio was founded in 1894 and figures nowadays as one of the historic wineries in the Rioja denomination, with wines of international renown such as Glorioso, Reserva Especial and Cosme Palacio y Hermanos, in honour of its founder, Don Cosme Palacio y Bermejillo. In 1998 it was acquired by Hijos de Antonio Barceló, who brought its technology right up to date in order to uphold today its top quality profile.
