The wine
Perro Verde is one of the most recognisable Verdejos in DO Rueda: pure, direct and true to the variety's classic style. It comes from the La Seca area (Valladolid), the historic heart of the appellation, and bears the signature of Ángel Lorenzo Cachazo for Uvas Felices, VilaViniteca's project that has turned it into one of the best-selling Spanish whites in recent years. White flowers, freshly cut grass, fennel and that characteristic bitter note on the finish: everything you'd want from a good Verdejo is here, with no artifice and value for money that's hard to match.
What does this wine taste like?
A Verdejo that combines body and freshness in equal measure. On the palate, it has medium body, is vigorous and quite concentrated, with the variety's characteristic lively acidity and that slightly bitter finish that signs off every glass. Fresh on entry, with more character than its pale colour might suggest.

Drinking and storing
Take it out of the fridge a few minutes before serving, so it warms up by a couple of degrees and the aromas open up fully. Keep it in an ice bucket or a thermal sleeve while you enjoy it: this is a wine meant for easy, uncomplicated drinking. Best enjoyed young, within its first two years.
Serve between 6°C and 8°C
Food pairing
Its freshness and herbaceous note make it a natural companion for the summer table: perfect for appetisers, shellfish, fish and poultry or light white meats. It particularly shines with crustaceans, chargrilled fish and pasta dishes with light sauces.
