The wine

The Serre is made from Susumaniello grapes, whose name means "loaded like a donkey", as it is particularly full of fruit at a young age. In the maturity phase, after about 10 years, productivity drops significantly and can finally be tasted in all its perfection. It is easy to recognize the bunches of Susumaniello among the native people of Salento, thanks to its ink blue color, so much so that in the past it was used as a cut to give greater chromatic depth to other wines.

Serre is obtained from selected grapes harvested manually and macerated in horizontal rotating silos, aged 6 months in French oak barriques.

Ruby red in color with deep blue reflections, the nose expresses hints of red fruits even in jam, and graphite closure. On the palate it is decisive, in a splendid balance between ripe fruit and mineral solidity. Of excellent persistence.
