The wine

Casato Prime Donne in Montalcino is a 40-hectare property in which there are 17 hectares of Sangiovese vineyards and the cellar for the vinification and aging in barrels of Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino. The cellarmen are all women, including the winemaker, a unique feature in Italy that makes this winery a flag for oenology in pink. There are no barriques in the barrel room, the Brunello matures for at least two years a tonneaux of 5 and 7 hectoliters produced by hand with French oak cut with an ax. Subsequently, barrels of 15-40 hectoliters are used and finally a refinement in the bottle takes place due to the aromatic richness of the wine. The distinctive element of the wines is elegance: red harmonies capable of lasting over time.

Intense and brilliant ruby red, the nose expresses a fine, intense, spicy bouquet. Dry, harmonious, warm, soft, persistent on the palate. It rests for two and a half years in large oak barrels.

This is demonstrated by the wines of Donatella Cinelli Colombini, president of the Orcia DOC consortium, which have in fact won the most significant awards from international guides. For Donatella, new technologies and tradition are not alternatives, but complementary....
