Review

Made primarily from the Tempranillo variety (85%), grown in 25 year-old vineyards, with some additional Cabernet Sauvignon (15%) from vines planted 10 years ago. Harvesting is still done manually in order to avoid damaging the grape clusters and so that a more accurate selection can be made.

Appearing clean and bright, and a Morello cherry colour with violet hues, the wine releases an aroma of medium-high intensity, fruit-driven and definitely varietal, with spicy touches endowed by oak-ageing. After a smooth entry, it is full and structured on the palate, rich in nuances and with an ample aftertaste.

Aged for 4 months in new American oak barrels.

Malo nada que ver con el crianza

Un vino que esperaba tuviera algo de su hermano mayor pero no, nada afrutado y muy alcohólico no repetiré

Okay

Table wine nothing more but it helps some dishes to taste even better.

Un bon Rioja

Un rioja simple et goulayant a un prix interessant.

For the price, good

Fruity but a bit thin. Benefits from pre opening or a quick decant. Easy drinking if unspectacular but hey, at this price It’s hard to find too much to grumble about.

Coto De Hayas

Muy buen Campo de Borja, calidad/precio. Junto con Fagus, Coto de Hayas crianza, con unas de la mejores garnachas, hacen de esta bodega, un referente de su tierra.

Bodegas Aragonesas

Bodegas Aragonesas

Bodegas Aragonesas was founded in 1984 when several cooperatives in the Campo de Borja region decided to unite to market the wines they were producing. The intervening years have seen this winery grow in prestige and recognition globally due to their Coto de Hayas brand, their star variety Garnacha used in the production of many wines, often originating from extremely old grapevines, and the careful management of their extensive vineyards has not gone unnoticed either. They ...
