Review
The exciting adventure embarked upon by the Tiraboschis started in 1992 when the couple decided to buy an estate in Sirmione, on the southern bank of Lake Garda. Here, in less than twenty years, Franco and Ambra have become the most authentic and trusty interpreters of the Lugana denomination. Since then, they have put all their efforts into producing wines which sum up the values held by the winery: commitment, freedom, honesty, love... and a touch of charming madness.
Ca' Lojera makes its wines from grapes harvested on its own 18 hectares of land, cultivated in a most environmentally friendly way. On this terrain, the vines dig their roots deep into the clay soil which once formed part of the bottom of Lake Garda and which now confers on the Lugana terroir a mineral trait, good structure and an amazing capacity to evolve over time.
Ca' Lojera Lugana Superiore originates from extremely low-yielding vineyards, the grapes are harvested manually at the point of perfect ripeness and the must ferments and matures for 24 months in 25-hl oak barrels. The result is an intense wine of great personality.
In the glass, its pale yellow colour and golden flecks entice the sense of smell towards an essentially elegant and attractive bouquet. Its fruity aromas (pineapple and peach), toasty and mineral notes are in perfect balance and endow the wine with a most pleasing characteristic. On the palate, we encounter a robust, warm, smooth and enveloping Lugana, but one that's also fresh and flavoursome right up to its finish with some smoky touches. A wine through which the Tiraboschis profess their love for this land and which succeeds in not only expressing the terroir but also evolving in time in its own original way.

Ca' Lojera

The name of the Ca' Lojera winery means "House of wolves" in the local dialect. The winery's name, linked to the legendary presence of wolves in the area many years ago, is, in fact, a guarantee of quality for the whole Lugana appellation. The owners Ambra and Franco, a friendly and down-to-earth married couple,...
