"La Bota de" is a numbered series of wines from Jerez and Montilla, distinguished by their age and exceptional quality. These are wines of great complexity and finesse, matured in some of the region’s most prestigious bodegas. Run by Jesús Barquín and Eduardo Ojeda, two fervent admirers of distinctive fortified wine, Equipo Navazos carefully selects, reserves and then bottles the successive editions. Dated releases ensure that an outstanding array of the finest sherry is continually available to a growing number of appreciative consumers.
Jerez and Montilla have their own styles when it comes to producing pure Pedro Ximénez wines. La Bota number 11 enables us to appreciate the Jerez style, where tradition dictates that only 5/6 of the butt is filled, thereby enhancing the complex notes endowed by the oxidative process, and the wine is fortified up to 18-19% abv. In Montilla, the wine matures in a completely full butt and is fortified to a lower alcoholic strength. It will develop nicely in the bottle for years and will keep when opened, but it should be stored firmly closed.
