Zaccagnini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Chronicon

"Chronicon" evokes time and history. This pure Montepulciano d'Abruzzo has its roots in the history of this territory and is headed for the future guaranteeing the taster excellent longevity. Aged in steel with a few steps in used wood (which can be up to a year of barrique), Chronicon is the perfect combination between the lively freshness of a Tralcetto and the explosive structure of a San Clemente. It is sold, however, three years after the harvest, and can easily age for over five years.

Chronicon is an intense and pleasant ruby-red wine with garnet reflections. The bouquet reveals an intense, characteristic, typical aroma of the vine, with notes of fresh and jammy red fruit, sweet spices, a little liquorice and vanilla. On the palate it expresses full body and robustness, with a tannic component finely balanced with the taste of wood, harmonious with ample fruity and floral notes. Very versatile during meals, it goes well with hearty dishes such as game pies, braised meats and elaborate meat dishes, but also arrosticini, grilled meat and roast chicken. It’s also great with pizza and kebabs.
