Nice but not great
I am a great fan of Peique Tinto Mencia so I decided to give the rose a try as well. This is a relatively dark and heavy rose and is quite dry. Although that makes a nice change from many rose wines which can tend to be too sweet, I prefer rose wine that are a little lighter.

Sorprende este rosado de El Bierzo, con uva Mencía, logra un llamativo color, una vivacidad y frescura destacable. Afrutado y con un punto de acidez muy agradable.
For many years, the Mencia wines of the Bierzo appellation didn't manage to achieve recognition as top-quality wines.
