The wine

MR and Molino Real are the two great Muscatels which Telmo Rodriguez produces in Malaga. Both show great personality and character, and are different from other Muscatels due to their notes of peaches and bay leaves. However, MR offers us the varietal’s younger profile, with its fresh and genuine character. A wine to enjoy whilst still young.

A pale yellow colour with greenish glints, the nose reveals a delicate, gentle aroma, full of fruit, with peach and bay notes. On the palate it is fruit-laden and fresh, with just the right amount of acidity and considerable body, unctuous, most pleasant and rounded.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker

The 2021 MR, the last vintage to be sold in half-liter bottles, is very expressive, aromatic like a mini Molino Real with balsamic notes of bay leaf, hints of condensed milk and a minty touch, with varietal aromas and flavors. This has 13.5% alcohol and has retained some 132 grams of residual sugar. It's balanced and vibrant with pungent flavors and a long finish, not too sweet. 10,521 half-liter bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2022.

Compañía de Vinos de Telmo Rodríguez

Telmo Rodríguez and Pablo Eguzkiza started work on their wine project in 1994 with, as they admit, few resources but plenty of ideas. The firm they set up, Compañía de Vinos de Telmo Rodríguez, has grown based on the pair's travels around winemaking regions to understand and experience Spain as a complex and unique winemaking country with incredibly diverse and rich landscapes.   Top quality winemaking traditions, experience in...
