Laccento is a wine with an original and pleasantly aromatic personality. Deep ruby red in colour with shiny purple reflections, on the nose it expresses intriguing floral scents, with notes of rose petals and the sweetness of wild berries. On the palate it is soft, rich, intriguing and surprisingly elegant. Very versatile during meals, it is excellent to drink with risotto with mushrooms, pasta with fish, red and white stewed meat and blue cheeses.

I was looking forward to trying this indigenous Piedmontese grape, being a fan of both the region and exploring unsung varietals, but sad to say this was pretty much undrinkable. The nose had a caustic quality - somewhere between eau de cologne and rubbing alcohol - and it overpowered whatever positives the flavour might have had. A bad bottle?
Top value! Peculiar Nothern Italian.
At first sip a little like an odd Bourgogne with wild berries on the nose. Medium body, somewhat sweet with smooth tannins, strawberries, cranberries and above all - violet. Perfect with a Ragu!
Undervalued varietal. Excellent alternative to Nebbiolo.
Slight stemminess comes through but this integrates with aeration and an hour in the decanter. Tannins are not too obtrusive. The interest grows with each return sip!
2016 Is a hit!!
On the nose red berries and roses, and in the mouth darker berries, violet, floral and lighter tannins. For the price its unbeatable!
Different and delicious
With a very slightl sweet back note this is a delicious drinking wine on its own or as an accompaniment to food
