Review
Mastroberardino Lacryma Christi Rosso is a fascinating red from Campania with an ancient tradition. Already famous in Roman times, it has remained in the history of the area thanks to the precious work of the monks who, since the Middle Ages, have continued to produce it over the centuries, dripping the tear from the grapes of the Vesuvian vineyards. Intense ruby red in color, the nose expresses aromas of cherry and plum to which are added spicy notes of pepper and cloves. In the mouth it is warm, with great structure and softness, characterized by a very fine tannic texture. A return of fruity notes anticipates a closure of good persistence. Throughout the meal, it prefers combinations with savory first courses such as pasta or polenta with meat sauces; ideal with elaborate red meats.
