Details for Mastroberardino Lacryma Christi Rosso 2019
Bottle size and vintage
Mastroberardino Lacryma Christi Rosso is a fascinating red from Campania with an ancient tradition. Already famous in Roman times, it has remained in the history of the area thanks to the precious work of the monks who, since the Middle Ages, have continued to produce it over the centuries, dripping the tear from the grapes of the Vesuvian vineyards. Intense ruby red in color, the nose expresses aromas of cherry and plum to which are added spicy notes of pepper and cloves. In the mouth it is warm, with great structure and softness, characterized by a very fine tannic texture. A return of fruity notes anticipates a closure of good persistence. Throughout the meal, it prefers combinations with savory first courses such as pasta or polenta with meat sauces; ideal with elaborate red meats.
- Optimum serving temperature:Between 16ºC and 18ºC
Fruity, light with a bit of spice
My husband loves this wine ever since we visited the vin yard in Italy but it's so hard to get hold of in the UK. The wine has fruity plum and cheery flavour with just a bit of spice. Lovely with a tomato based pasta dish.by: Aveage (26/05/2017) - Vintage 2016
I was recommended this wine as the best wine I would ever taste, well it was nice but I have tasted better
