The wine

In the glass, this Taurasi appears dark and virtually opaque to look at. On the nose, so rich and intense, it offers aromas of ripe black berries and cherries, as well as elegant floral touches and spicy notes of cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg. Marbled with a garnet tinge as it ages, the bouquet alsp becomes more complicated by subtle mineral hints, ethereal puffs and goudron.

On the palate, with the fruit and the oak working together in perfect harmony (the wine matures for 18 months in medium toast French oak barrels), it imparts a dense flavour, rich and well-balanced, that culminates in a long and persistent finish with balsamic and spicy hints. When it's young it may seem slightly nervous due to the impetuosity of the vine, but, elegant and snappy as it is, it gradually evolves into a full-bodied wine with integrated tannin, sweet, warm, rich in after-tastes which create a new road-map for the complexity of the bouquet.

Feudi di San Gregorio

Feudi di San Gregorio

At the forefront of the wine-making renaissance in the Campania region, Feudi di San Gregorio has only just turned 30 years old. We're celebrating its birthday with a special promotion showcasing the excellent catalogue of this young yet already historic winery . A selection of wines which share a well-defined style and an almost symbiotic identification with their lands of origin, both here and in other of this company’s wineries throughout Italy. A real heritage that in itself...
