Details for Feudi di San Gregorio Taurasi 2015
Bottle size and vintage
In the glass, this Taurasi appears dark and virtually opaque to look at. On the nose, so rich and intense, it offers aromas of ripe black berries and cherries, as well as elegant floral touches and spicy notes of cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg. Marbled with a garnet tinge as it ages, the bouquet alsp becomes more complicated by subtle mineral hints, ethereal puffs and goudron.
On the palate, with the fruit and the oak working together in perfect harmony (the wine matures for 18 months in medium toast French oak barrels), it imparts a dense flavour, rich and well-balanced, that culminates in a long and persistent finish with balsamic and spicy hints. When it's young it may seem slightly nervous due to the impetuosity of the vine, but, elegant and snappy as it is, it gradually evolves into a full-bodied wine with integrated tannin, sweet, warm, rich in after-tastes which create a new road-map for the complexity of the bouquet.

Serpico's little brother
From the same grape as the Feudi's Serpico, this is good quaffing wine rather than a unique experience -- however, this is also reflected in the very reasonable price. Taurasi for everyday, Serpico for special occasions.by: very good (26/11/2018) - Vintage 2013
This one is younger but so much better. A poignant vibrant nose, initially slightly tight but with air, a most unusual fruit profile, blueberry hints on a base of red fruit, fresh blasts and then boiled notes. Well rounded and engaging, the palate reciprocates with time, gravely tannin yes, but beneficial, think yogurt with muesli. High acid and decent structure rounds out a very enjoyable wineby: antoine martorana (21/06/2019) - Vintage 2013
