Review
Vigna Cicogna is a very expressive and engaging white, a real standard for Greco di Tufo. Upon visual examination it shows a beautiful, decisive and bright yellow. The nose, broad and articulated, evokes notes of pear, gooseberry and, subsequently, kiwi, cedar, orange, apple, white melon and peach. An exuberant fruity mix sculpted by the minerality of flint, tuff and dry clay. And again: memories of broom, sweetness of almonds and gently toasted dried hazelnuts, and finally puffs of sage and lemon balm with balsamic overtones of scrub. On the palate it is energetic and vigorous, with important acidity and sapidity well integrated by the structure and remarkable softness. Minerals and citrus in the foreground, a decidedly crunchy fruit and a pleasantly salty finish. On the table it goes well with well-structured fish dishes, such as rock grouper, or with clear flavors such as smoked salmon in its various variations, including slightly spiced tartare. Excellent with monkfish with porcini mushrooms.
