Schiavenza Barolo Prapò is an intense, full-bodied and spicy still red. Elegant and enveloping on the nose, with notes of berries, licorice, dried leaves, rose, violet, strawberry and cherry. The sip appears fresh and savory, with a splendid tannic boost. Recommended in combination with pasta or risotto with meat sauce, game, roasted or grilled meat, stewed red meat.

Klasse Wein

sowie ein wirklich exzellentes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Sehr zu empfehlen. Braucht aber noch Zeit, um sein volles Leistungsspektrum zu zeigen. Trotzdem klasse.

Klassischer Barolo -- die gute alte Zeit

Klassischer Barolo, erinnert an große Jahrgänge wie 1999 -- aber schon antrinkbar! Deutlich besser aber noch 7 bis 10 Jahre in den Keller legen! Insgesamt gute Anlagen und große Erwartungen -- auf dem selben Niveau wie der zuletzt getrunkene sehr gute Jahrgang des selben Weins und Produzenten 2008!



Schiavenza has been operating in the Serralunga d'Alba territory since 1956. The winery, started by brothers Vittorio and Ugo Alessandria, is now looked after by Luciano Pira, agronomist and cellarer, assisted by his wife Maura Alessandria and brother-in-law Walter Anselma. In the past the farmhouse and the surrounding land were owned by the Opera Pia Barolo; the work was carried out by sharecroppers called "schiavenza": hence the curious name of the property.
