Roca Grisa

Marco Abella’s most delicate and elegant Carignan. A single-vineyard wine born in the highlands of Porrera that reveals one of the most refined expressions of Priorat.

Roca Grisa is Marco Abella’s first single-varietal Carignan, made from a small plot located in the highest part of La Mallola, Porrera’s highest-altitude vineyard. At 750 meters above sea level, the vines are influenced by sea breezes that reach the Priorat, encouraging a slow, balanced ripening of the grapes and giving rise to a wine of extraordinary finesse, freshness and purity.

Here, Carignan finds a singular environment. The grey llicorella soils—slate formed between 300 and 360 million years ago—give the wine a marked mineral identity and lend their name to this exclusive micro-vinification.
