Lungarotti Torgiano Rubesco Vigna Monticchio 2015
Review
Second among the red wines and the first autochthonous in Italy, Rubesco Riserva Vigna Monticchio, the spearhead of the Cantine Lungarotti, celebrates 50 years of the Torgiano Doc by flying high in the Top 100 ranking of Italian reds by Gentleman, a periodical of Class Editori that every anno elaborates the scores of the most authoritative national guides (Gambero Rosso, Vitae, Luca Maroni, Bibenda, Daniele Cernilli and Veronelli).
Red wine with a warm and intense profile made from pure Sangiovese grapes. Elegant and solid structure, it has a deep ruby color and a complex bouquet reminiscent of morello cherry and blackberry, delicate hints of violet and light menthol notes and spicy finish. Of great concentration, fruity and slightly balsamic, it has soft and velvety tannins, long and persistent finish. It goes perfectly with structured second courses of red meat, such as roast, game, braised meat. Excellent also with cold cuts and aged cheeses.
