La Rosa de Raventós i Blanc

A tribute to the age-old practice of planting roses to prevent outbreaks of vine blight and one that survived through 19 generations of vine growers on this estate. Organically produced, this 100% Pinot Noir wine emanates from the two highest parcels on the Serral hill. The vineyards were planted in 2002 with trellised vines on sandy-clay soils having plenty of pebbles but low in organic material.

The grapes are fed by gravity, and undergo maceration with skins to obtain the required colour intensity and increase the aromatic complexity. Pressing takes place slowly and at low pressure to ensure must elements are properly broken down. Alcoholic fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at a regulated temperature. The atmosphere during each stage of the wine-making process is controlled with the use of dry ice, and this helps to conserve fully the wine’s aromatic potential.

This is a fresh and aromatic wine with considerable volume.
